In this week's case discussion, submitted by Dr Bruce Poole, we look at a male patient in his mid 50s with a past history of bowel cancer linked to Muir-Torre syndrome. He has previously had several BCCs.
The patient presents for a routine skin check and is unaware of the pink/red nodule on his back. What do you think of it? How would you proceed?
Dr Poole suspected sebaceous carcinoma and saucerized the lesion at the time of presentation with elective wider clearance planned. Diagnosis was confirmed on histology.
