In his latest general dermatology update video, Dr Vincenzo Piccolo discusses the clinical features and therapies for cradle cap.

"Cradle cap" is seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp and affects about half of all newborn babies. It is typically seen in babies aged 2-4 weeks and can last 4-6 months.

In this video, Dr Piccolo walks through the clinical features used to confirm a diagnosis of cradle cap, as well as locations on the body where this dermatological condition may develop.

He explores the dermoscopic features of cradle cap which doctors may use to differentiate the skin condition from others.

Dr Piccolo walks through real patient cases with clinical and dermoscopic photos. Further, he looks at the history of research into this condition.

Finally, Dr Piccolo explores the therapeutic options available for newborns diagnosed with cradle cap.
